Waterproof, warm and quiet
Luxury Vinyl Tiles (Glue-Down LVT)
Individual planks and tiles glued to a prepared subfloor. Waterproof, warm underfoot, and the most realistic wood and stone effects available.

Glue-down luxury vinyl is the floor we fit most in kitchens, bathrooms, utility rooms and hallways. Each plank or tile is a dense, flexible vinyl with a printed and embossed surface under a clear wear layer, bonded to the subfloor with adhesive. Because every piece is stuck down and the material is completely waterproof, it copes with anything a wet Cornish winter, a dog and a family can bring in.
The catch is the subfloor. Glue-down LVT is only as good as what it sits on: every bump and joint telegraphs through, so the floor has to be flat, dry and sound before a single tile goes down. That usually means a smoothing screed over concrete or plywood over floorboards, and a damp test first. We do that preparation ourselves rather than skipping it, which is why our LVT floors look like the photographs.

Questions we are asked
- What is the difference between glue-down LVT and click LVT?
- Glue-down is bonded to the subfloor and needs a flat, prepared surface, but gives the most solid, seamless result and works with underfloor heating. Click LVT floats over an underlay, is quicker to fit and more forgiving of the subfloor. We fit both and will recommend whichever suits the room.
- Does LVT need the subfloor screeding?
- Nearly always, yes, on concrete. Old screeds have humps and hollows that show through a thin vinyl. A smoothing compound gives a flat surface for the adhesive. On floorboards we lay plywood first. It is part of the job, not an extra we spring on you.
- Will you damp test the floor?
- Yes. A concrete subfloor that reads too high on a moisture test will lift a glued floor within months. We test first and, where needed, apply a damp-proof membrane before the screed.
