Which flooring is best for a Cornish home?

It depends on the room and the subfloor more than anything else. Kitchens, bathrooms and hallways are best in waterproof luxury vinyl. Living rooms and bedrooms suit engineered oak or laminate. Solid wood needs a dry, stable timber floor with no underfloor heating. We look at the actual floor before recommending anything.

Do you supply flooring without fitting it?

Yes. We can supply from any of our ranges for you or your own fitter to lay. Most customers prefer supply and fit because it keeps one person responsible for the whole job, including the preparation.

How long does a floor take to fit?

A typical room is a day, including preparation. A whole ground floor is usually two to four days. Where a subfloor needs screeding, the screed has to dry before the floor goes down, and we build that into the plan rather than rushing it.

Can you fit over underfloor heating?

Yes. Engineered wood, most laminates, LVT and SPC are all suitable. Solid wood is not. We check the manufacturer's limits and the commissioning of the heating before we start.

Click LVT and SPC

Rigid-core vinyl planks that click together and float over an underlay. Waterproof like glue-down LVT, quicker to fit, and kinder to an uneven subfloor.
