CB Flooring is Chris, supplying and fitting flooring across Mid and West Cornwall from a base in Redruth. We fit every kind of flooring, but wood, laminate and vinyl are where our work and our advice are strongest.
Most flooring problems are not flooring problems. They are a damp slab that was never tested, a floor laid over boards that move, or a floor that was never suited to the room it went in. All three are avoidable, and avoiding them is most of what we do.
So a job starts with a visit rather than a price list: measuring properly, testing the subfloor for moisture, looking at the levels and thresholds and asking what the room is actually used for. Then samples come to your home, because oak looks quite different in a Cornish sitting room in January than it does under showroom lights. Only then is there a quote, and it includes the preparation.
A small showroom in Redruth is being fitted out now and will open shortly, which will make browsing easier. Until then, and honestly for a long time after, the samples will keep coming to you.
How we work
One person, start to finish
Chris quotes the job, prepares the subfloor and lays the floor. Nothing is handed to a subcontractor halfway through.
The preparation is the job
Damp testing, levelling and screeding are not extras we add on later. They are what makes a floor last, and they are in the quote from the start.
Products chosen for the room
We would rather sell you the right floor than the expensive one. If wood is wrong for your bathroom, we will say so.
Left clean
Offcuts taken away, the old floor removed and disposed of, and the room swept before we go.
